Notice a strange debit on your bank statement, from Circumtec Mentone?
Concerned your card was charged the full $15 amount?
Are you concerned your card was charged the full $15 amount?
How does the Pre-Authorisation work?
When using our payment system at a self serve wash bay, Circumtec confirms with your bank, by way of a “pre-authorisation” that a maximum amount $15 is available when you tap your card. This transaction is “pending” and within 24-48 hours, your bank will release these funds.
How much will I be charged?
An initial credit of $15 is uploaded to the wash and you will only be charged for the time used prior to pushing the stop button. Please allow up to 48 hours for this transaction to be processed and appear on your bank statement.
Does your bank statement look like this?
A Circumtec Mentone charge will be for a credit or debit card purchase through a vending machine, car wash, laundromat, dog wash or other similar machine. We essentially act as the middle-man between yourself and the operator, taking electronic payments on behalf of the business by using our secure, state-of-the-art technology.
Can I get a refund?
Hopefully, the above information will make sense and, if you came seeking a refund, you will most probably have changed your mind about that. However, if you are still confused about where this payment could have come from, we’d advise you to contact us directly so we can talk in more depth about what the payment could have been related to, as well as your options.
Moving forward, we’re taking further steps to avoid confusion
Our goal is to introduce different types of payment information that will appear on your statement, depending on the service used. For instance, Circum-Laundromat, Circum-Car Wash and Circum-Vending Machine may go some way towards helping clear up any confusion quickly and effectively.
There really is nothing to worry about!
If you’ve seen a charge from Circumtec Mentone appear on your credit or debit card statement and are wondering what it’s for, there’s no need to panic – it’s not an error.
Circumtec handle the processing of cashless transactions made for a range of products and services all over Australia. You may have recently used your credit or debit card when visiting a car wash, dog wash or laundromat. Or you may have made a purchase at a vending machine for a cool drink, snacks or tobacco. Perhaps you have enjoyed time in a relaxing massage chair. These transactions will be identified by the narrative “Circumtec Mentone” appearing on your bank statement.
Need to remove a negative Google review?
We’ve all done it! Posting negative reviews to Google when we believe we have been misled or, worse still, unfairly charged for a service we don’t believe we have used. We understand that seeing a payment from Circumtec may have been alarming, and that you may have taken the understandable step of turning to Google to warn others to be on the look-out for similar payments.
We hope that by reading this information, you are now comfortable with the charges that have appeared on your statement. If that’s the case and you posted a negative review prior to coming here, we would love it if you could remove it. Your doing so will help us alleviate the concerns of others around the legitimacy of these payments, as we continue to educate our operator’s customers about what they can expect to see on their statements following a purchase.
